Biodegradable Fabrics

Bemberg (Cupro) : Is a plant based fibre made from cotton linter. It is biodegradable, produced in a certified closed-loop system, and helps reduce environmental impact. It is comfortable and gentle on your skin and has a silk like sheen.

European Linen Flax Blend : Crafted from flax plants, the linen fibre is breathable, moisture-wicking, biodegradable, and is responsibly sourced from an Indian fabric factory certified to the European Flax Standard [version 3] by Bureau Veritas. For a softer drape we have used linen flax with a viscose blend.

Viscose Twill : The fibre sourced from renewable wood pulp. It is less prone to wrinkling and the Twill gives it more weight and durability. It is 100% Viscose and is biodegradable.

Handloom Textiles : Sourced from ITOKRI, a platform that works with over 10,000 artisans across India on fair trade terms. We consciously used their last-cut pieces of Ikat and Ajrakh, making the most of every thread of their craft.

Zero Waste : Fabric scraps are passed on to Kaushalya Mahila Bachat Gat, a women's self-help group supported by Sneha NGO, keeping waste out of landfills and supporting women-led livelihoods.

Sustainable Packaging : We use recycled plastic bags, eco-friendly tags and cards made from FSC-certified paper, and handcrafted eco-conscious, reusable, washable Muslin bags that are fully biodegradable.

Mindful Production: Every piece is made-to-order, which means there is no excess, no overproduction, and no trend-chasing. Digital textile printing, locally sourced and made in India in our own small-scale unit in Mumbai.

Direct Artisan Support: Every Indigrace purchase includes a 2% artisan bonus, you scan a direct UPI code into the personal bank account of the specific artisan (Artisan #1 to # 8)
